The Creature Teachers

Creatures in the Wild is a mom-owned and operated organization. The four of us combine all of our passions and talents together to make the magic happen.

Emily Pollokoff

Director of Operations

Emily graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University with expertise in Middle Eastern & South Asian Studies and linguistics, and professional fluency in Arabic and Hindi. We’re thankful she chose CITW over the CIA because she brings ten+ years of experience working in education, and her organization skills honed as an editor (Greenlight Editing) keep us all on track.

Sarah Wiley Joyce

Creative Director

Sarah attended Cazenovia College for studio arts and minors in art history and communication design. She is pure artistic talent incarnate and makes the word a more beautiful place through her photography and design work at SRW Joyce Photography. The newest member of the Creatures Team, her support was manifested under the strength of the new moon, and she found us by following the scent of palo santo and a trail of incense smoke.

Casey Johnson

Director-in-Chief

Casey was a feral child. She was born for this. A lifelong naturalist, she turned to farm-to-table restaurants to help people reconnect to nature through food. After fifteen years working in every aspect of the trade, from farming to baking, she left the field(s) to teach her children and make sure they also felt connected to the earth. Creatures in the Wild is her brain- and heart-child and she lives and breaths to bring the wild back.
